Can gaming make kids smarter?
An undergraduate class explores how gaming – from digital to board games – can be applied in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.
SEM 343 – Gaming in STEM Education is for a wide range of students, whether they are interested in teaching or simply want to expand their understanding of the potential benefits of gaming. This fully online, 3-credit hour course will include Monday afternoon synchronous classes and asynchronous coursework on Wednesdays.
Once again, the University of Kentucky College of Education is ranked among the best in the nation. The college is the top-ranked in Kentucky and 58th overall in the U.S. on the 2024 list of top schools to pursue a graduate degree in education, announced today by U.S. News and World Report.
The Institutional Multidisciplinary Paradigm to Accelerate Collaboration and Transformation (IMPACT) Awards were launched in 2023 to champion the necessary and groundbreaking work done by University of Kentucky faculty and other campus community members.
The inaugural IMPACT Awards total more than $600,000 — with a particular emphasis on proposals that are transdisciplinary, innovative and aligned with some aspect of The UK-PURPOSE, the UK Strategic Plan.
