Educational Experiences in P-12 Schools

For students who are preparing to teach, the College of Education has established effective collaborations with local school districts. Field experiences provide broad experiences in Fayette County Schools (the district where the University of Kentucky is located) as well as nearby districts. The schools are in urban, suburban, and rural settings, with student populations that reflect the communities, and offer programs that address community needs.

We seek to provide teacher candidates with opportunities to understand and value of serving student population needs. Through curriculum and field experiences, aspiring educators learn to use methodologies for teaching students with a wide range of learning styles.

Student Organizations

You will find a variety of student organizations that are affiliated with your interests and help you continue to connect to your community. Organizations may offer both professional experiences and opportunities to give back and get involved. Learn more about student organizations in the college.
