Become a Teacher
If you want to impact the future, teaching is a great choice!
As the top-ranked education school in Kentucky and one of the leading institutions in the United States, we offer a strong foundation in effective teaching practices. Through extensive field experiences and our innovative embedded programs, made possible by partnerships with schools and community organizations, you will gain hands-on experience well before graduation. Both in-state and out-of-state students can receive a stipend of up to $5,000 while completing student teaching. Employers seek out our graduates based on their readiness to lead in classrooms from early childhood through high school—and beyond.

Why I Chose UK
"The College of Education gave me the tools to succeed and the confidence to go into the professional world and make a difference. The faculty and staff at the College of Education always took a personal interest in my life, along with my peers, to ensure that we were prepared for life after graduation. I was supported, encouraged, and motivated to become the best teacher possible because of my time at UK."
