Step 1: Meet Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to apply for the teacher education program (TEP), you must have:
- Minimum of 60 hours of college-level work (or currently enrolled in enough hours to accumulate 60+ by the end of current semester)
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 – Students will not be allowed to interview for TEP or student teach if they do not have an overall 2.75 GPA. Students can check their Grade Point Average by using the GPA Calculator at http://www.uky.edu/Registrar/GPAcalc.htm and/or using APEX at http://www.uky.edu/degreeaudit/.The GPA Calculator and APEX are not official indicators of your eligibility for Teacher Education Program acceptance or student teaching but are mechanisms you should use to monitor your academic progress. The Department recommends each student schedule an appointment for an official audit in the College of Education at least three semesters prior to graduation.
