Application Information

To apply for the program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must have received a STEM undergraduate degree (or an equivalent degree) in math, science, or related disciplines.*
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
  • Teach for a minimum of two years in a school in an identified high-need public school district. Fellowship monies must be returned if the Noyce Fellow does not complete the teaching requirement.

Applications are accepted until the ten open fellowship positions are filled. APPLY EARLY!

Application Checklist:

  1. Email the following to jennifer.wilhelm@uky.edu:
  • Copy of your transcripts (unofficial is fine) from all collegiate institutions.
  • Write a personal statement no more than 1,000 words. The personal statement should address the following:
    • 1) Why you want to teach in STEM; and
    • 2) What you feel your strengths as a teacher would be
  1. Provide names of two people who can indicate your future success in teaching mathematics and science AND have them email the letters of recommendation to jennifer.wilhelm@uky.edu
    • Two letters of recommendation prepared by people who can indicate your future success in teaching mathematics or science. The recommendation may come from an individual who is familiar with your character, personality, work ethic, and dependability.
