The UK-Robert Noyce Teacher Fellowship Program is a financial assistance program supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) that provides academic scholarship support for graduate students majoring in Master’s of Arts in Teaching (MAT) who are seeking to become teachers in mathematics and/or science (physics, chemistry, biology, and earth sciences). Students in this MAT program need to already receive a Bachelor’s degree in math, science, or related disciplines (e.g., engineering, computer sciences, etc.)
Fellowship amounts of $34,760 during the MAT year at the University of Kentucky, followed by an additional $15,000 annual stipend on top of teaching salary during their first four years of teaching.
The UK-Robert Noyce Teacher Fellowship Program ensures that its fellows move into their professional lives equipped for life-long learning as STEM educators who will be active in leading colleagues in their schools, districts, and professional organizations.
The Noyce program supports talented STEM majors and professionals to become effective K-12 STEM teachers and experienced, exemplary K-12 teachers to become STEM master teachers in high-need school districts. It also supports research on the effectiveness and retention of K-12 STEM teachers in high-need school districts.
