The Department of Graduate Education and Accreditation provides the oversight for all accredited programs in the College of Education. The Department is led by:
- Dr. Amy Spriggs, Associate Dean of Graduate Education
- Dr. David Sacks, Director of Accreditation
- Christopher Reese, Director of Educator Preparation
Dr. Sacks and Mr. Reece work together to ensure all programs in college are accredited.
Dr. Sacks collaborates with the following programs and their accreditation activities along with all other programs in the college wishing to attain program accreditation:
- ABAI (Association for Behavior Analysis International
- APA (American Psychological Association) for Counseling Psychology Program
- APA (American Psychological Association) for School Psychology PhD Program
- CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs)
- CASCE (Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education)
- NASP (National Association of School Psychologists – School Psychology EdS Program
- SACSCOC via the Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (OSPIE)
Mr. Reese collaborates with AAQEP along with many other state requirements for Teacher Educator Preparation; which includes a wide range of services to students, faculty, and staff related to educator preparation programs, accreditation, and certification. For students, the office serves as the primary contact for admission to teacher education and for state-issued teaching certificate recommendations. The office also maintains close working relationships with staff at the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB), and works with UK program faculty on matters related to national accreditation. He offers assistance to students, faculty, and staff in:
