Proposal Editing and Preparation Services

The College of Education Office of Research (IER) offers proposal editing, writing, and general proposal preparation services. For help with a proposal, please review and complete the Proposal Editing and Preparation Services Request Form or reach out to Shana Moore, Senior Grant Editor, at shana.moore@uky.edu for additional information.

Pre-Award

The Institute for Educational Research provides direct aid for faculty in support of scholarly inquiry,  proposal development, and proposal submission. This office provides indirect help by maintaining regular communication with other offices in the University, state and federal government, and private sector funding providers. The best part? These services are free!

Research Planning and Development: The Institute for Educational Research offers both logistical and technical support for this process. Logistical support includes tasks such as aiding faculty in securing a meeting area and helping faculty garner travel funds. Technical support includes consultation on research methodology and statistical procedures.

Proposal Preparation: The IER staff is here to support proposal preparation. Tasks performed run the gamut from conducting literature searches to the basics of copying and mailing a proposal for submission. Come ask us for assistance!

College Grants Officers excel at the nitty-gritty details entailed in grant proposals. They stay up-to-date in information such as overhead rate information, indirect cost rates and policies, intellectual property policies, and current funding opportunities. The College Grants Officers are available for tasks such as preparing proposal budgets, reviewing proposals for compliance with University, state, and federal guidelines and laws, and assisting faculty in completing required internal approval forms.

Post-Award

Post-award services are offered to increase project management efficiency as well as aid our very busy faculty members and graduate students. Once a grant has been received, staff at the IER will help you navigate the cumbersome grant management protocol and liaison with the many offices involved in this process. If you wish to use any of these free services, please contact Tammy Medaris. You will find her working diligently in TEB 105.
