Carolyn Oldham
Associate Director and Assistant Professor
Carolyn Oldham, PhD is Associate Director of the University of Kentucky’s Evaluation Center and Assistant Professor in Educational Policy Studies & Evaluation. She has nearly 20 years of experience leading evaluations in education and public health, with expertise in culturally responsive and community-engaged evaluation. At the Evaluation Center, Dr. Oldham leads strategic planning, grant development, and evaluation projects across Kentucky and beyond. Her research focuses on evaluation capacity-building, cultural responsiveness in health care and educational settings, gender equity in academia, occupational health and safety, and suicide prevention. In addition to her evaluation leadership, Dr. Oldham has extensive experience in education as an instructor of developmental writing and reading, as well as English language and English learner education, designing and teaching courses across community college, university, and international contexts. She also has served in organizational development and quality improvement leadership roles in the nonprofit sector. She is a faculty affiliate with the Kentucky Center for Statistics, James B. Beam Institute, and the Kentucky Injury Prevention Research Center. She also serves as Director of Continuing Education for the Central Appalachian Regional Education and Research Center.
