Beth is a strategic communicator with more than 25 years of professional experience in marketing, public relations, and journalism. She uses her content marketing, multimedia, design, and writing skills to amplify the story of the people who make up the UK College of Education. With an eye on best practices and emerging industry trends, Beth works to position the college for meaningful connections with prospective and current students, supporters, higher education colleagues, and communities. Beth works closely with UK Marketing and UK Strategic Communications to increase the college’s reach and ensure a clear and consistent voice across the college’s public platforms.

An award-winning journalist who has worked in print, television, radio, and online platforms, Beth was honored by her peers and educators for her coverage of education issues before moving into marketing and public relations. She has worked on special projects on national and regional platforms, including ABC and CBS News, and in a wide range of industries, from higher education to healthcare to entertainment. Her passion is helping others to reach their goals by creating and connecting relevant, creative and timely messages with key audiences, with data-driven and people-driven strategies. She has facilitated media interviews with the New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, Discovery, PBS, Forbes, Prevention, and a number of other national and international news outlets.

Beth has been a proud member of the University of Kentucky family since 2005, as a public relations specialist with UK Public Relations and UK HealthCare and was part of a two-person team innovating video communications at UK. She joined the College of Education communications team in 2013. Her specialties include social media management, strategic marketing, branding, graphic design, reputation management, philanthropy and fundraising communications, writing, podcast production, video production, photography, media training, and speech writing.
