EDL offers two undergraduate pathways that allow students to study leadership as part of a comprehensive undergraduate education.
EDL Undergraduate Degrees and Certificates
The Bachelor of Science in Leadership for Community Education and Human Learning prepares students to work in community-based, educational, and public-serving organizations. The program emphasizes leadership in community contexts, organizational collaboration, and educational initiatives beyond traditional classroom settings
Students engage in interdisciplinary coursework and applied learning experiences that connect leadership theory to community practice. This degree provides a strong foundation for careers in education-related organizations, nonprofit and community settings, and for continued graduate study.
The Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies allows students from a wide range of majors to develop foundational knowledge of leadership alongside their primary field of study. The certificate focuses on leadership as a set of skills and practices that support effective collaboration, ethical decision-making, and engagement in educational and community settings.
The certificate is designed to complement a student’s major and provide flexibility in how leadership learning is integrated into an undergraduate academic plan. Updates to the certificate are underway to strengthen alignment with community-focused leadership and undergraduate learning goals.
