Overview

If you are interested in implementing education programs outside the traditional school/classroom structure, this major is for you! This program will prepare you to facilitate educational programming for your and adult learners within communities and organizations. You will also learn to serve as an effective leader, creating connections between community members and leaders/decision-makers.

The Bachelor of Science in Leadership for Community Education and Human Learning degree offers curriculum designed to prepare students to become effective leaders in implementing educational programs within community contexts. This includes individuals seeking a professional career in educational programming for youth and adult learners within communities and organizations outside of the traditional school and classroom structure.

*This major does not lead to teacher certification.

Program Details

Delivery Method: On-Campus with some online courses available

Credit Hours: 120

Tuition Cost: Refer to Part-time per Credit Hour Rates for Graduate Students on the UK Tuition and Mandatory Fees page.

Completer Option: The target audience includes undergraduate Education majors that have completed general education requirements but do not wish to complete the Teacher Education Preparation (TEP) Programs, as well as non-traditional students that desire a 2-year completer degree to support matriculation from KCTCS programs..

UK Community Innovation Lab

Students have the ability to interact with the multi-disciplinary Community Innovation Lab that partners with businesses, government, and community organizations to pioneer social change in an effort to tackle society’s most complex social problems.
