Our alumni are known for their incredible accomplishments, impacting people and policies in Kentucky, the nation and world. We want to recognize these achievements and help tell inspiring stories. New deadlines for nominating alumni for awards will be announced soon.
Alumni Excellence Award
This award honors those who have made outstanding contributions over the course of their career, reaching the pinnacle of achievement in their chosen professions. Recipients of the Alumni Excellence Award will also be inducted into the college’s Hall of Fame.
Alumni Excellence Award honorees must:
- Have earned a degree from the University of Kentucky College of Education, or
- Have completed a significant amount of academic work in the college;
- Have obtained significant achievement personally or professionally;
- Have demonstrated distinguished professional accomplishments, outstanding character
- and commitment to community service;
- Have shown evidence of merit of work in their chosen field or community leadership;
- and
- Have shown evidence of strong support for the field of education.
Outstanding Teaching
This award honors exemplary teachers – those with overall excellence in teaching methodologies, and who are knowledgeable, passionate and innovative. They inspire students and practice transformational leadership.
Outstanding Teaching Award honorees must:
- Have earned a degree from the University of Kentucky College of Education, or have completed a significant amount of academic work in the college; and
- Have shown evidence of outstanding teaching practices.
Leadership and Service
This award recognizes the impact our graduates have made upon their chosen profession or the community-at-large.
Leadership and Service Award honorees must:
- Have earned a degree from the University of Kentucky College of Education, or have completed a significant amount of academic work in the college; and
- Have made a significant impact through leadership or service.
Outstanding New Graduate
This award honors the noteworthy and distinctive achievements of alumni who have graduated with a baccalaureate degree within the past five years.
Outstanding New Graduate honorees must:
- Have earned a baccalaureate degree from the University of Kentucky College of Education within the past five years; and
- Have demonstrated noteworthy and distinctive professional achievements in the early years of a career.
Service to the College of Education Award
This award honors alumni and friends who help the college advance its mission.
Service to the College of Education Award honorees must:
- Have demonstrated commitment to the College of Education through contributions of time and talent.
