Sipera Simons
Academic Advisor II
Sipera Simons is an Academic Advisor II in the College of Education's Student Success Office at the University of Kentucky. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership.
With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Sipera is passionate about empowering students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. She is known for her student-centered approach, fostering a welcoming environment where students feel valued, supported, and connected. Her background in counseling and leadership allows her to provide holistic advising while helping students navigate challenges, explore opportunities, and develop meaningful plans for success.
Sipera is an advocate for student belonging, retention, and well-being. She enjoys collaborating with students, families, faculty, and campus partners to connect students with resources that promote persistence and achievement. She is an active member of several professional organizations and is committed to continuous learning, mentorship, and building strong relationships across the university community.
Outside of work, Sipera enjoys reading, writing, traveling, listening to music, and spending quality time with her family.
