Marilyn Nehls, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Director of Undergraduate Studies
Marilyn Nehls received her PhD in Exercise Science, her MS in Nutritional Sciences, and her MPH with a concentration in Population Health Policy and Management from the University of Kentucky. Her research interests include human nutrition, sports nutrition, cardiovascular health, health and wellness, obesity, and exercise. Dr. Nehls teaches undergraduate courses in exercise physiology, including Introduction to Kinesiology and Health Promotion (KHP 151), Nutrition and Physical Fitness (KHP 240), and Introduction to Exercise Testing and Prescription Prescription (KHP 450). She leads study abroad courses for Nutrition and Physical Fitness (KHP 240) with a focus on the Mediterranean Diet to locations such as Italy, Greece, and Costa Rica. Dr. Nehls is the Director of Life Fitness and works with departmental TAs who teach activity-based courses in KHP.
