Jakob W. Hester

Program Coordinator II

Jakob W. Hester serves as Program Coordinator II for #IChampionHealth, a PREVENT Community-Engaged Alliance initiative in the UK College of Education. In his work, he seeks collaborative, creative ways to educate young people, empower community champions, and engage schools and youth-serving organizations to strengthen health and hope across the Commonwealth. Hester graduated from the UK College of Education with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion and an M.S. in Health Promotion. His previous work included serving UK employees, retirees, and spouses as an HR Wellness Specialist, and he was a successful cross country and track and field coach at Transylvania University prior to that role. Hester is a native of Lexington, KY, with roots in Eastern Kentucky. In his free time, you can find him outside exploring with his wife and son or immersing himself in music.
