Celebrating 100 years

In honor of our 100th anniversary, we are hosting a full academic year of events to celebrate the impact of the College of Education.

April 2024

Join the UK College of Education for a fun evening supporting student scholarships at the:

Big Blue Birthday Bash
6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 20
Mane on Main

Get Tickets: www.ukalumni.net/Education100

Featuring Performances by: The Coach Mitchell Band, fronted by former Kentucky Women’s Basketball Coach Matthew Mitchell

This is your opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the UK College of Education and:

  • Enjoy a night overlooking the Lexington skyline at The Mane on Main (cocktail attire)
  • Walk the blue carpet, take a selfie with the Wildcat, and dance the night away
  • Be part of the Coach Mitchell Band experience (songs of the 70s, 80s, and 90s)
  • Savor food from Dupree Catering (cash bar)
  • Win exciting silent auction items
  • Support scholarships for students (all funds raised from ticket sales and the silent auction will go toward scholarships)

Big Blue Birthday Bash supports the Centennial Scholarship Fund in the UK College of Education. The fund, created in honor of the college’s 100th anniversary, provides students access to scholarships during their journey to make a difference and helps address an ongoing national shortage of professionals in fields such as teaching and health care.

If you cannot attend, please consider making a gift to the scholarship fund. We hope to raise $50,000 to endow the fund, ensuring it will support students in the next century and beyond.

We hope you will join us for this special occasion. Please feel free to contact Nathan.rudder@uky.edu or 859.562.2584 for more information.
