Rebecca Powell directed The Center for Culturally Relevant Pedagogy at Georgetown College. In addition to numerous articles, she has authored or co-edited four books on literacy and diversity, the most recent being Literacy for All Students: An Instructional Framework for Closing the Gap (Routledge, 2011). She served as Project Director for the CRIOP,  a five year project funded through a National Professional Development Program Grant from the U.S. Department of Education Office of English Language Acquisition.
