Brian Hamilton is from Louisville, Kentucky, and serves as the Senior Associate Director of Inclusive Excellence and Student Success at the University of Louisville. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Missouri and a Master of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Louisville. His research interests include student sense of belonging, diversity and social justice in higher education, cultural competence development and assessment, multicultural education, campus climate, and Critical Race Theory. Brian chose the University of Kentucky for his doctoral studies because of the flexibility and accessibility of the online program, as well as the supportive faculty and the opportunity to pursue an action-research dissertation. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, watching movies, and proudly embraces his identity as a lifelong comic book nerd.
