Bima Sapkota, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education
Dr. Bima Sapkota is an assistant professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Kentucky, USA. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Purdue University, Indiana. Her research focuses on practice-based teacher education, teachers’ discipline-specific mathematical knowledge, teachers’ curricular decision-making, and the use of AI in teaching and learning mathematics. Dr. Sapkota is the co-chair of the Secondary STEM Education (MAT) Teacher Certification Mathematics Program. She teaches a quantitative reasoning course for undergraduate students, as well as content and methods courses for elementary, middle school, and secondary preservice teachers. She is currently an editorial board member of the Mathematics Teacher Education journal.
