The Sport Leadership Advisory Committee is comprised of current professionals and graduate students, with backgrounds in sport/fitness related activities, who have an intellectual and practical skill set essential to guiding the Sport Leadership emphasis in Kinesiology & Health Promotion. The advisory committee is tasked with making recommendations as well as providing key information and advice to the program Director/Coordinator.  The advisory committee provides additional recommendations regarding curriculum development congruent with the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) standards.  These recommendations are an important function of the committee, that will help ensure the Sport Leadership curriculum is keeping pace with changes in the sport industry.

The advisory committee plays an important public relations role and provides feedback to the Director/Coordinator on current issues and problems in the profession. The advisory committee will provide the Director/Coordinator with insight into the recruitment and retention of a diversified group of graduate students. The advisory committee is instrumental in assisting the Director/Coordinator in the development and fostering of relationships with future employers.
