On Thursday, April 21, the University of Kentucky will celebrate its fourth university-wide giving day, “One Day for UK.” For 24 hours, the university will encourage donors around the world to give to the college, unit or cause they care most about at UK.
Gifts made to the UK College of Education on One Day for UK will be used to fund scholarship for students like Chloe Ditka, a senior in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion.

“When I lost my mother unexpectedly my freshman year of college, I was concerned about how I would handle my financials. Being a recipient of the College of Education scholarship through the generosity of donors helped me in my time of need! I am so grateful I had the opportunity to finish my education at UK and I hope to pay it forward by going to medical school someday and becoming an educator myself,” Ditka said.
From teachers to health care providers, UK College of Education students live to help and serve others. These students and many others cannot achieve their career dreams of service without your help.
The more gifts made to the College of Education on One Day for UK, the more dollars we unlock for the College of Education General Scholarship Fund – thanks to a generous gift from the estate of Judge Sara “Aunt Sara” Sidebottom, Class of 1970 – a former teacher, public defender and district judge in Northern Kentucky. Turn $10,000 into $20,000 in scholarships to help our students begin life-changing careers with this generous matching gift.
Your gift will make a difference in the lives of our students and the students and patients they will serve. Thank you for helping to realize their goals to help make life better for others!
