The What’s Up @UKCollegeOfEd newsletter is sent to all currently enrolled College of Education students. It is used to communicate information relevant to students in the college.
FREE PRAXIS WORKSHOPS
The College of Education will be offering two opportunities to attend a free Praxis I preparatory workshop from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 and Monday, Oct. 9. This workshop will provide you with academic skills that will help you when it’s testing time. Students may bring their own devices, but Chromebooks will be provided. Space is limited, so students are invited to register here.
BIG BLUE FAMILY CARE
Big Blue Family Care is a network of current UK students who provide occasional, paid childcare and pet care for UK families. The program makes it simple for students to connect with UK families seeking high-quality care. For more info visit bit.ly/BigBlueFamilyCare.
JOIN THE REHABILITATION COUNSELING STUDENT ASSOCIATION
Rehabilitation Counseling students are invited to join the UK chapter of the Rehabilitation Counseling Student Association. STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN NAMI WALK
The Rehabilitation Counseling Student Association is forming a team for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk on Saturday, Oct. 14. UK College of Education students, faculty or staff who would like to join the team may register at here. ELEMENTARY EDUCATION STUDENT ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP
The Elementary Education Student Association is accepting new members. The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, in the William T. Young Library Alumni Gallery. There will be a panel of 3rd grade teachers from Breckenridge Elementary who are excited to meet you elementary education majors and share their experiences in the classroom.
DANCEBLUE 5K TEAM FORMING
The Elementary Education Student Association now has a team for the DanceBlue 5K! The race is at 12 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, starting at Kroger Field. Anyone interested in taking part can register for the team name “EESA” here.
