Holly Brown, a counseling psychology doctoral student, has been named a recipient of a research grant awarded by the UK Graduate School and Office of LGBTQ* Resources. The one-time grant supports research and/or professional development related to sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and/or intersectional approaches to identity. Brown studies gatekeeping around transgender healthcare. As a grant recipient, Brown will have the opportunity to be featured as a presenter for a Gender and Sexuality Lunch and Learn session presented by the Office of LGBTQ Resources this upcoming academic year. She is a student in the college’s Department of Educational, School and Counseling Psychology. Her broad research and clinical interests revolve around gender, sexuality, psychotherapy outcomes, well-being, and trauma.
