The Campus Kitchen at the University of Kentucky (CKUK) is an on-campus student service organization that provides a sustainable approach to reducing food waste on college campuses while also providing healthy meals to those struggling with hunger. If you are currently looking for Volunteer opportunities during the Summer then look no further! Fayette Co. 4-H will be hosting 4-H Summer Camp June 19th- 22nd and July 31st-Aug. 3rd. As an adult volunteer, you attend camp for free and you receive 120 hours of volunteer time including training. There are even teaching opportunites avaliable to all volunteers. There is a mandatory interview and background check that must take place. Also, as an added bonus one child that is related to you can attend camp for 50% off per session that you attend.

Volunteering can provide you with an opportunity to develop rewarding relationships and attain personal satisfaction from helping others. A volunteer’s assistance will allow a Veteran’s caretaker the opportunity to rejuvenate while providing companionship, support, and a needed presence for the Veteran. We are seeking volunteers who will provide dignified, compassionate support to ill and injured Veterans in their homes. As a volunteer, you will provide comfort and assistance to homebound Veterans in your own community. In addition, you will provide a much needed break for caregivers so that they can renew their energy and spirit. The goal of our school volunteer program is to promote a school-home-community partnership to support student success. Our schools offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. Some jobs provide a chance to interact directly with children. You don’t have to be an accomplished athlete to make a difference. FCSO looking for reliable, committed volunteers, who can assist with team practices, be a partner/helper for an athlete, and or help with fundraisers for the program. FCSO serves over 185 athletes from Lexington and surrounding counties from ages 8 through adulthood and has a Young Athletes program serving ages 2-7.

A community center and Kids Café site located at the northern border of the East End area of downtown Lexington, KY. East 7th Street Center serves children 18 years and under and their families.   99% of our youth participants qualify for free or reduced lunch at their schools. We provide afterschool, educational programming and a free nutritious meal for neighborhood youths. We are also a designated Safe Place. Volunteers help with homework; facilitate art and science classes and projects, read with and participate in activities with youth, prepare meals, clean and organize.
