The University of Kentucky campus community and members of the public are invited to the Reel to Real film and discussion series devoted to disability, sport, and inclusion. Organizers hope to facilitate discussion, inspire new insights, and raise awareness about the opportunities and challenges faced by people with disabilities in sport and in everyday life.

The films will be shown in the auditorium of the William T. Young Library (401 Hilltop Ave, Lexington, KY 40506) and the schedule includes:

  • 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018: Endless Abilities
  • 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018: The Ataxian
  • 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018: Swim Team

The film and discussion series is sponsored by the UK College of Education’s Global Center for Sport Diplomacy and the Kinesiology and Health Promotion Club in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion. It is funded by an Inclusive Excellence Student Program grant.

Special guest speakers will attend each film. Food will be provided. Contact Dr. Megan Chewansky at meganchewansky@nulluky.edu to RSVP.

The Inclusive Excellence Student Program grant for the film series was awarded through the UK Office for Institutional Diversity. The office awards funding for programs that are student-centric and foster collaborative programming and partnerships among groups, centers, programs, registered student organizations and/or initiatives to address the importance of diverse views and cultures.
