Dr. Wilcox views the classroom as an extension of her commitment to her caring teacher philosophy and social justice education. She is dedicated to fostering safe spaces in the classroom where critical thinking and dialogue occur.
Dr. Wilcox received her Ph.D. in Social Sciences and Education Policy Studies with a graduate minor in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her areas of academic interest examine the influence of racial thought on public education policy, particularly in small rural and urban schools. She has a particular interest in providing educational access and opportunities to children from vulnerable populations globally.
