As we look back during Black History Month, we also look to the future.

Pictured with faculty mentors, these graduate students are among the next generation of University of Kentucky College of Education scholars exploring new answers to questions in our communities.

UK College of Education Acting Dean and counseling psychology professor Dr. Danelle Stevens-Watkins (front row, far left) leads the team in this photo on a range of projects focused on health disparities.

Dr. Candice Hargons (front row, third from left) and Dr. Shemeka Thorpe (front row, fourth from left) also lead student teams conducting wellness-focused research among Black populations.

Hargons is professor and interim chair of the Department of Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology. Thorpe is assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion.
