Learning from the past to prepare for the future

I want to be a Social Studies teacher because I want to educate our youth about the past. During the last couple of years I have realized how little people truly know about our history as a nation and the history of the world in general. By being a social studies teacher, I feel as though I will be able to teach children about the past so that we do not repeat it in the future. Also, I just love social studies and sharing that love with other people!
