While many University of Kentucky students are turning in final exams or projects this time of year, UK College of Education students taking an education curriculum methods course tested their skills by teaching students from Millcreek Elementary and Picadome Elementary.
The UK students planned instructional units, aligning them with instructional standards and ongoing classroom curricula. Students from Millcreek Elementary rode buses to the UK campus to learn from students in Dickey Hall. Students at Picadome Elementary were visited by UK students at the school on Harrodsburg Rd.
The experience is integral to the learning experience of UK students in the elementary education program. It allows them to bring to life a project that is in-depth and multifaceted. This hand-on, minds-on experience is made possible through partnerships with Fayette County Public Schools.
