Taylor Dinyer, a Kinesiology and Health Promotion scholar, received the second place research award in the master’s level student division at the Southeast Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine annual meeting. Dinyer’s presentation was titled, “Low Intensity Resistance Training to Failure on 1RM Strength in Untrained Females.” Her research is focused on the examination of new resistance training methodologies to improve muscular strength in women who do not have a background in resistance exercise training.

Dinyer, as well as several fellow Kinesiology and Health Promotion students, attended the meeting in Chattanooga, Tenn. in February.
“The quality of the research and diversity of topics presented by our students at SEACSM was very impressive,” said Kinesiology and Health Promotion assistant professor Dr. Haley Bergstrom. “The students displayed a passion for their work and eagerness to share that work with those in the Southeast Region. It was a joy to see them interact with many students and faculty during their presentations.”
