Several Kinesiology and Health Promotion faculty and students presented at Mary Todd Elementary STEM/Science night on March 28th, 2019. Dr. Rosie Lanphere organized and lead a group of KHP faculty and students which included; Dr. Jody Clasey, Dr. Justin Nichols, Dr. Jill Day, Matt Thomas, Tori Vogelaar, Lilly Bradley, and Sara Marshall. STEM K-12 students were able to get their body composition, flexibility, and vertical jump measured and participated in an electrocardiogram (ECG) and heart rate activities. The Pediatric Exercise Physiology (PEP) Lab, directed by Jody Clasey, donated draw-string bags as giveaways. The purpose of this STEM activity was to promote the fields of Physical Education and Exercise Science. Mary Todd Elementary is a minority serving institution and serves a demographic of 40% Hispanic, 30% African American, and 30% Caucasian students.
