Colorado Springs, CO – The National Strength and Conditioning Association Foundation is proud to announce that Mark Travis Byrd has been named a recipient of the NSCA’s Challenge Scholarship for 2017. Byrd was selected by the NSCA Foundation Scholarship Committee after a thorough evaluation process of all applicants. This program awards $1,500 to NSCA members seeking either an undergraduate or graduate degree in a strength and conditioning-related field.
M. Travis Byrd received his BS degree in Physical Education (P-12) and a minor in Biology from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. He received his MS degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Eastern Kentucky University. Travis is currently a doctoral candidate in Exercise Physiology at the University of Kentucky and his main research interests include muscle physiology, neuromuscular motor control strategies, nutritional supplementation, power production and maintenance of performance measures.
