On Wednesday, October 19, 2016 the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion collaborated with the Johnson Center to partner with the American Cancer Society to promote healthy living as part of UK Tackles Cancer week. Representatives from ACS, the UK Wellness Ambassadors, and UK’s Tobacco-free Take Action promoted healthy living initiatives during tabling at the Johnson Center. Those stopping by were encouraged to learn more about cancer prevention and healthy living and encouraged to support breast cancer awareness. They were welcome to get their photo snapped in the photo booth, highlighting the #pauseforpink theme. In addition, Campus Recreation hosted #pauseforpink Zumba and Cycling classes that evening. Students enrolled in KHP 590 (Advanced Health Concepts) helped with the event.
