University of Kentucky College of Education associate professor Dr. Melinda J. Ickes co-wrote an editorial on e-cigarettes that appeared in the Friday, Sept. 7 edition of the Herald-Leader. Ickes is director of the Go Tobacco-free initiative to promote tobacco-free college campuses. She co-wrote the editorial with Dr. Ellen J. Hahn, who is a professor in the UK College of Nursing and directs several tobacco-free initiatives.
The editorial focused on the prevalences of pod mods, which contain two to 10 times higher nicotine levels than other e-cigarettes, and impact of pod mods use among children and young adults.
