Hannah Bourg just completed her first year as a master’s of science student studying health promotion in the University of Kentucky College of Education’s Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion. This summer, she has the opportunity to intern with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department in Nebraska. There, she will be working with the employee health and wellness program.
Bourg will be assisting in program planning and brainstorming topics for lunch and learn events, newsletters, and more. She will be part of implementing more physical activity opportunities for employees to participate in before work and creating videos for mini health topic presentations for staff to utilize.
Bourg, who is originally from Houston, graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in school health and a teaching certification for EC-12 health. While attending the American School Health Association convention two years ago, she met UK College of Education faculty member Dr. Elizabeth Whitney, who introduced her to the health promotion graduate program at UK.
