Jie (Grace) Dai, a Ph.D. student and research assistant in the Department of Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation, was among those presenting at an Educator’s Rising conference recently hosted by the UK College of Education.

They may still be in high school, but the Fayette County Public Schools students who attended the conference are on a path to become accomplished teachers. They are part of the teaching and learning pathway in The Academies of Lexington, career academies located at Tates Creek, Bryan Station and Frederick Douglass high schools. During the conference, held in Dickey Hall and the Taylor Education Building on the UK campus, they listened to speakers and took part in vigorous competitions to show off their skills.

Dai presented sessions on how students could learn to evaluate their own teaching.
