Drs. Lee and Jones Awarded Summer Research Grants

Dr. Jungmin Lee and Dr. Willis Jones were recently awarded UK Faculty Summer Research grants. These competitive grants will help to fund their research projects through the upcoming summer. Dr. Lee will be examining college students’ credit accumulation patterns. In particular, she will examine 1) why students take more credits than necessary (e.g., remediation courses, major change, withdraw many courses, etc.) and 2) whether their excessive course-taking is related to their time to degree. Dr. Jones, meanwhile, is working on a project that examines how the frequency of community college student interactions with peers from a different racial/religious background correlates with their perceived academic and social development along with their overall satisfaction with the college experience.

Congratulations to Willis and Jungmin!
