EDP counseling psychology doctoral student, Holly Brown, has been named a recipient of UK’s inaugural Graduate and Professional Student LGBTQ* Research Grants! Given as a partnership between the Office of LGBTQ* Resources and the Graduate School, these awards seek to promote promising young scholarship at the University that asks important questions related to gender and sexual orientation. The committee reviewed over twenty applications from many different UK colleges and determined that Holly’s project on gatekeeping around transgender healthcare was one of the most deserving of additional funds. As a grant recipient, Holly will have the opportunity to be featured as a presenter for one of the Office’s Gender and Sexuality Lunch and Learns next academic year. These monthly events provide graduate students and faculty members space to talk about their research with the campus community over a catered lunch in the Young Library.
