Danelle Stevens-Watkins has received the Association of Black Psychologists “2013 SAGE Professional Research Award” for excellence in scholarship. The award is for her 2012 Journal of Black Psychology publication titled “Racism and illicit drug use among African American women: The protective effects of ethnic identity, affirmation, and behavior.” Stevens-Watkins is an assistant professor in the UK College of Education Department of Educational, School and Counseling Psychology.
