Started in 1961, the Great Teacher Awards are the oldest continuous awards to recognize teaching at UK. While the students make the nominations, the UK Alumni Association Great Teacher Awards Committee, in cooperation with the student organization Omicron Delta Kappa, selects the award recipients. Great Teacher Award recipients each receive a citation, engraved plaque and a cash award.

The recipients will be honored on Feb. 28 at a luncheon and recognized at Rupp Arena during the UK vs. LSU men’s basketball game.

Special thanks to the UK Alumni Association for contributing to this story.
