Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership involving strategic planning, accreditation, assessment, and evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate education programs in the professional education unit, including certification programs in other colleges on campus
  • Oversees accreditation reviews of unit and programs by SACS, NCATE/CAEP, APA (school psychology, counseling psychology), CACREP/CORE, EPSB, and NASP
  • Oversees the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Programs, Accreditation, and Planning
  • Ensures that ongoing data collection, analysis, and data-informed program changes occur in undergraduate and graduate programs in the unit
  • Works closely with program coordinators to ensure accreditation timelines are met and appropriate documentation is submitted
  • Serves as the college liaison with the Education Professional Standards Board on matters related to program approval, certification, and reporting
  • Serves as the college liaison with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education on matters related to approval of new programs
  • Facilitates completion of the annual SACS reports (Student Learning Outcomes and strategic plan progress), Title II report, NCATE/CAEP report, AACTE PEDS report, and various reports to the EPSB
  • Serves as ex-officio member and staff support for the Committee on Courses and Curricula and oversees the progress of course and program changes through various approval channels in the college and university
  • Collaborates with the Kentucky P20 Data Collaborative in securing data related to value-added assessment of educator preparation programs in the college
  • Collaborates with the COE Strategic Planning AdHoc Committee to establish baseline data, set benchmarks/goals, and measure progress annually for the College’s Strategic Plan
  • Assists the Dean with faculty matters related to position descriptions, recruitment and offers, meetings and retreats, awards and recognitions, and overall faculty affairs
  • Represents the Dean as an ex-officio member of the Faculty Council when the Dean is unavailable
  • Serves as ex-officio member of the COE Rules Committee
  • Serves as ex-officio member of the Faculty and Student Recognition Committee
  • Serves as ex-officio member of the Program Faculty Chairs Group and the Council of Chairs
  • Serves as the college’s representative on the University Assessment Committee
  • Serves as a member of the COE Leadership Team
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Program Assessment and oversees data analytics related to accreditation and academic program success
