The Office of Academic Programs, Accreditation, and Planning

The Office of Academic Programs, Accreditation, and Planning provides leadership involving program development and evaluation, accreditation and program approval, and strategic planning.  We are responsible for approval of initial and advanced educator preparation programs through the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board and evaluation of undergraduate and graduate degree programs through the University’s program review process.

The Office oversees and facilitates accreditation and/or program approval activities associated with the following agencies:

  • National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
  • Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)
  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
  • American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE)
  • Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB)
  • National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)
