Application Procedures - Master's Degree

1.    Apply to The Graduate School (see "Admission").

2.    Take GRE and have official scores submitted to The Graduate School.

3.    International students must also submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) directly to The Graduate School.

4.    Submit two official transcripts to The Graduate School directly from each college or university attended. Official transcripts in envelopes sealed (unopened) by the institution's Registrar and sent with the application are acceptable.

5.    Apply to the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion. Complete the Application Form (PDF) (requires Acrobat Reader which is a free download). Print the form and submit it to:

6.    Submit a resume with your application to the Department.

7.    Submit 3 letters of reference to the department address shown above. Print three copies of the Reference Form(PDF) and give one (with a pre-addressed envelope) to each of your evaluators. These letters should be from persons who can assess your academic capabilities and/or your work experiences and habits as a supervisor.We will not accept letters from friends and fellow workers.

8.    On a separate page(s), submit a statement of professional aspirations and how you feel graduate study at the University of Kentucky will enhance your ability to meet these goals. In this statement, tell us a little of your background. How did you get where you are today?

9.     Teaching/Research/Graduate Assistantships are available for Interested students.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE SEND IN ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS AT THE SAME TIME, INCLUDING: LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION, DEPARTMENTAL APPLICATION, RESUME, STATEMENT OF GOALS, AND ASSISTANTSHIP APPLICATION (IF APPLICABLE).
