Backing up Outlook data on MS Windows

All Outlook 2003 data ( Emails, Agenda, Contacts, Tasks...) are in one file named Outlook.pst in the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

where username is the the id you use to log in.

The first step is to set Windows Explorer to view hidden folders:

Open My Computer (or Windows Explorer) and select Folder Options from the Tools menu.

Select the View tab, then check Show hidden files and folders.

Click the Apply button to save the change.

Click the Apply button to save the change.

Browse to the Outlook folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

where username is the the id you use to log in.

Copy the Outlook.pst file to a backup folder/drive.
