Kirsten Turner (vita in PDF) is the Chief of Staff and Chief Financial Officer for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky.  She also is the Assistant Dean of Planning for the College.  In these roles she is responsible for all the administrative operations of the College, including finance, human resources, space and facilities, development, external relations, strategic planning, environmental scanning, and program development.  In her role, she serves as the Dean’s confidential advisor.  She has been with UK’s College of Arts and Sciences since 2004.

Kirsten worked in the field of higher education administration for the past 15 years, holding various roles at the University of Kentucky, University of Virginia and Transylvania University.  She is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Educational Policy, College of Education, at the University of Kentucky.  Her research interests include the quantification of higher education’s public goods as well as issues of faculty development.  She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia.  Her M.S. is also in higher education from the University of Kentucky.  Her B.A., with a double major in Political Science and Sociology, is from Hanover College.
