Jane Jensen, Ph.D, Indiana University, 1997 Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Study Dr. Jensen (vita in PDF) joined the EPE faculty from Indiana University with a joint degree in Anthropology and Higher Education. Her research interests are "qualitative research methodology, issues in postcompulsary education, and post-secondary transitions." Dr. Jensen’s research includes the study of post-secondary education and development in rural North America. She focuses upon the authenticity of local knowledge production and learning as processes that synthesize and reflect the larger political economy. She has recently completed research in Eastern Kentucky on high school students’ aspirations for college and issues of identity development for college students majoring in STEM disciplines. Dr. Jensen is also collaborating with faculty in Italy on a comparative project to examine transitions from secondary to post-secondary education in Europe and the United States. Dr. Jensen holds a M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration from Indiana University and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. |
