50 States' Certification Requirements
In an effort to facilitate the movement from one state to another, the UK College of Education will attempt to link to the teacher certification requirements for the 50 States. We recognize that States are continually revising their teacher certification/licensure rules and requirements. Accordingly, we link to the best available information.
Please do not contact the UK College of Education with questions about the certification requirements for a specific state. Instead, please refer to the contact information contained in the links for the individual states.
You might want to look at the certification requirements for your appropriate state
and then look for employment/position announcements in the State you're interested.
Good luck in your search.
Additional Information
If you want more information about a State's educational offerings, you can go to the Council of Chief State School Officers for information on educational policy and legislation in the US. If, in the course of your own search for teacher certification information, you find a better URL for a State or you find an un-listed State's URL, please let us know! Thank you for your cooperation.
Reciprocity
Certification reciprocity facilitates movement, but you still must meet the receiving state's certification requirements. See the National Association of State Directors Teacher Education and Certification for information on certification reciprocity
